Polytechnic Windhoek Campus

Client: Polytechnic of Namibia

Emcon has been engaged for more than 6 different large building projects with a combined value of more than N$1.25 billion on the Polytechnic of Namibia Campus in Windhoek over a period of 12 years. The focus has been on modern, energy efficient buildings. Measures include specialised air conditioning, lighting control systems, selection of state-or-the-art energy efficient lighting, with attention to effective shading and the introduction of daylight into internal spaces.

School of Medicine, Windhoek (3 phases, 5 buildings)

Client: University of Namibia

A green-fields project for the construction of the National Medical School in Windhoek. Total project value upon completion of all phases is in excess of N$1 billion. Emcon has been responsible for all M&E services from the first phase. Services include specialist installations such as extensive medical equipment, a medical imaging department, a world class anatomy department with state of the art HVAC design among others.

Neudamm School of Veterinary Sciences & Agricultural College

Client: Ministry of Works & Transport, University of Namibia

Emcon was responsible for M&E services for the conversion of Neudamm Agricultural College to the Faculty of Agriculture for the University of Namibia, extending over six phases. This includes new hostels, laboratories, teaching facilities, upgrading of water supply, new sewerage treatment works, staff housing, sports field with lighting and irrigation. Emcon is now appointed for the construction of a new Faculty of Veterinary Sciences at Neudamm.
